Applied AI Engineer

About this role

The AI team owns the models inside the product: resume understanding, candidate-to-role matching, and the assistive tooling recruiters use every day.

Sit between product and models: prototype quickly, evaluate honestly, and turn the promising third into something that holds up in front of customers.

These models influence who a recruiter sees, which makes fairness a design constraint rather than a review step at the end. Every ranking change is evaluated for differential impact before it ships, and the team has standing authority to stop a launch. The input is genuinely hard — CVs in every format a human can invent, multilingual and code-mixed text, and documents photographed at an angle in bad light.

Primary responsibilities

• Take AI capability into product features people actually use
• Prototype fast, evaluate honestly, and be willing to conclude an approach does not work
• Design the interaction around the model — how uncertainty is shown, and how a person corrects it
• Work with product and design on where AI genuinely helps rather than where it can be applied

Skills required

Day to day this role works with Python, LLMs, Evaluation and Product Engineering.

• Five or more years engineering, with substantial LLM application work
• Have killed your own prototype because the evaluation said so
• Three or more years in engineering with applied AI work shipped
• Fast prototyping with honest evaluation
• Designing the interaction around a model — showing uncertainty and making correction easy
• Willingness to conclude an approach does not work
