Payments Engineer — APAC

About this role

Payments & Gateway Engineering builds the rails money moves on: the gateway, acquirer and PSP integrations, cross-border settlement, escrow, reconciliation and the ledger under all of it.

Own the APAC payment rails: local schemes, cross-border settlement, and the regulatory constraints each market places on how money moves.

Money is unforgiving in a way most software is not. A network blip that causes a retry must not become a double charge; a reconciliation break is either a bug or somebody's money, and you need to know which within the hour. Add cross-border — correspondent rails, cut-offs, value dates, FX at the point of quote, and screening every leg has to pass — and idempotency stops being a nicety.

Primary responsibilities

• Build payment integrations for the APAC region, where local rails matter more than cards in most markets
• Integrate the local payment methods each market actually uses
• Handle the regulatory requirements of each jurisdiction, including local data and licensing constraints
• Own reconciliation and settlement for the regional corridors

Skills required

Day to day this role works with API Design, Compliance, Payments and Cross-Border.

• Five or more years building payment systems
• Familiar with MAS requirements and regional payment schemes
• Eligible to work in Singapore
• Three or more years in payments engineering
• Local payment method integration for APAC markets, where cards are not the primary rail
• Regulatory requirements per jurisdiction including data and licensing constraints
• Reconciliation and settlement for regional corridors
