Processing & Refining turns what comes out of the ground into product — crushing, beneficiation, the alumina refinery, the laboratory and quality control.
Patrol the conveyor runs: idlers, belt tracking, spillage and the pull-cords. Every guard stays on, and nothing is cleared while the belt is running.
A continuous plant is never stopped, only handed over, which makes shift discipline and handover quality the difference between a good week and an incident. In the refinery the work is with caustic liquor at temperature, and the protective equipment requirements are absolute rather than advisory.
Day to day this role works with Housekeeping, Inspection and Conveyor Systems.
