Warehouse Supervisor

About this role

Supply Chain plans and moves what the operations need — sourcing, inbound movement, inventory and the warehouse.

Run the equipment store: receiving, stock accuracy, dispatch to offices and remote staff, and the count that has to reconcile at month end.

The chain runs to mine sites and plants where a missing part stops production and the nearest alternative is several hours away. That changes the calculation on safety stock and on which supplier relationships are worth the effort.

Primary responsibilities

• Run the warehouse shift — receipt, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch
• Manage the team on the floor and the safety of how they work
• Keep stock accuracy right through cycle counting rather than an annual surprise
• Own the housekeeping and layout that make the operation safe and fast
• Handle the exceptions: a short delivery, a damaged consignment, a pick that cannot be fulfilled

Skills required

Day to day this role works with Team Supervision, Warehouse Operations and Inventory.

• Three or more years supervising a warehouse or store
• Three or more years supervising warehouse operations
• Receipt, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch processes
• Team management on a floor
• Stock accuracy through cycle counting
• Warehouse safety including materials handling equipment

Preferred

None of these are required. They are the things that would help, and a strong application is regularly missing all of them.
