Localisation makes the product and the content work in the languages our users actually use — across Indian languages and the European and APAC markets.
Translate and review the product, job postings and candidate communication into Indian languages, keeping the register right — formal enough to be trusted, plain enough to be understood.
Hiring vocabulary translates badly. A literal rendering of terms like "shortlisted" or "offer rolled out" reads as nonsense in several of our languages, so the work is localisation rather than translation. The engineering side has its own problems: text that expands forty per cent, scripts that break naive layouts, and pluralisation rules English does not have.
Day to day this role works with Translation, Hindi, Tamil and Proofreading.
