Community Manager

About this role

Social Media & Community runs every channel and the communities on them — candidates and recruiters, in several languages.

Look after the candidate and recruiter communities: answer, moderate, escalate, and know the regulars by name. A lot of this is people at an anxious moment in their career, so tone carries the job.

Much of the audience is at an anxious point in their career, which sets the tone for everything published. Regional content is made in the language it will be watched in rather than translated into it.

Primary responsibilities

• Build and run the communities around the brand — candidates, recruiters and the people using the product
• Be present in them daily rather than broadcasting into them
• Set and enforce community guidelines fairly, including the difficult moderation decisions
• Bring what the community is saying back to product and support with evidence
• Grow membership without letting the quality of the room fall

Skills required

Day to day this role works with Communication, Community Management and Moderation.

• Two or more years running an online community
• Steady under provocation — you will meet some
• Three or more years in community management
• Daily presence in a community rather than broadcasting into it
• Setting and enforcing guidelines fairly, including difficult moderation calls
• Bringing community feedback back internally with evidence
• Growing membership without the room getting worse
