About this role

Mine Administration runs the site's supporting functions — stores, the explosive magazine, weighbridge, dispatch, time office, security, HR, community relations and statutory compliance.

Maintain attendance, shift rosters and the statutory registers, and get the muster right — people are paid from what you record.

Several of these are control points rather than clerical jobs. The weighbridge slip drives invoicing and royalty computation, the explosive register is a legal document that gets audited, and contractor labour compliance is where site operations most often get into serious trouble. Integrity in these roles matters more than experience.

Primary responsibilities

• Maintain attendance and shift records for the workforce, which is what payroll is built from
• Operate the attendance system and reconcile it against what the supervisors report
• Maintain the statutory registers the Mines Act requires — employment, attendance, leave and wages
• Handle leave records and the queries that come with them
• Support payroll input and answer worker queries about their attendance and dues

Skills required

Day to day this role works with Record Keeping, Attendance and Payroll Input.

• Twelfth standard pass with one or more years in a time office or HR administration
• Basic education with strong numeracy and accurate record keeping
• One or more years in a time office, HR administration or payroll support role
• Attendance and shift record maintenance, which is what payroll is built from
• Statutory register maintenance under the Mines Act — employment, attendance, leave and wages
