Mine Maintenance keeps the fleet and the plant running — HEMM, workshops, electrical, welding, hydraulics, tyres and instrumentation.
Look after the diesel engines across the fleet: servicing, injector and turbo work, and diagnosis when a machine is down and the shift is waiting on it.
The central tension is preventive maintenance against production pressure, and the function is judged on whether it holds the schedule when the pit wants the machine back. Component life here is decided by unglamorous things: oil cleanliness, greasing discipline, and taking a tyre off before it fails on a haul road.
Day to day this role works with Maintenance, Diesel Engines and Fault Diagnosis.
The same for every role, at every level — a haul truck driver and a staff engineer get the same cover.
