IT keeps everyone working — devices, access, the corporate systems, and the site networks at the plants and mines.
Support the site: office and plant computers, the network across the township and the refinery, and the connectivity that everything else depends on when the nearest engineer is 500 kilometres away.
The estate runs from an engineer's laptop in Bengaluru to a weighbridge terminal at Damanjodi where dust and heat shorten the life of everything and a failure stops trucks moving. Those are different problems and the function has to be good at both.
Day to day this role works with Networking, Troubleshooting and IT Support.
The same for every role, at every level — a haul truck driver and a staff engineer get the same cover.

Damanjodi is the alumina refinery — the largest single site we operate. Process operations, the laboratory, mechanical and electrical maintenance, instrumentation, safety, environment and the site support functions are all based here, alongside the township.
A refinery township in the Koraput hills, with housing, a school and a health centre on site. Visakhapatnam is the nearest major city and it is a long drive. Shift buses run between the township, Semiliguda and the plant gates.
Work here is with caustic liquor at temperature and pressure. The protective equipment requirements and the permit system are absolute rather than advisory, and induction covers them before anybody enters the plant.
