Mine Safety, Health & Environment holds the statutory safety and environmental posts and runs the systems behind them.
Hold the statutory safety post at the mine: inspections, risk assessment, incident investigation, the safety committee and the standing authority to stop a job. The role only works if you use that authority.
The safety officer role carries the standing authority to stop work, and the function only works if that authority gets used on a production day. Environmental compliance covers consent conditions, monitoring and the reclamation commitments the clearance was granted on.
Day to day this role works with Risk Assessment, Training, Statutory Compliance and Mine Safety.
None of these are required. They are the things that would help, and a strong application is regularly missing all of them.
Inspections, risk assessment, incident investigation and training. Rescue team membership is held alongside a trade, with training and medical fitness maintained.
Statutory qualifications are sponsored, and the function reports independently of production.
Barbil is at the centre of the Keonjhar iron-ore belt — mining operations, beneficiation, HEMM maintenance and the site functions around them.
A mining town in the proper sense, with everything the industry needs and not a great deal else. Bhubaneswar is several hours away. Monsoon runs June to September and dictates a great deal about the working year.
Several posts here are statutory under the Mines Act and require a certificate of competency. We sponsor those tickets for people already on the team.
